Who we are
Naija Classic Games (the app) and naijaclassic.games.mlabs.ng (the website) are made by MayR Labs (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we handle when you use the app or the website, and why. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
If you have any question about your information, email hello@mlabs.ng.
The short version
- You can play every game without an account, without signing in and without internet.
- Your games, settings and scores stay on your phone.
- We only receive information from you when you choose to send us a suggestion, game idea, feedback or bug report.
- We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use tracking or advertising SDKs.
Information that stays on your phone
To make the app work, it saves some things on your device only. We never receive them:
- The name and avatar you pick, your language (English or Pidgin), sound and vibration settings, and your house rules.
- Unfinished games you can continue later, and your games played and games won.
- If you turn on daily reminders, the reminder time. Reminders are scheduled on your phone.
Deleting the app removes all of this.
Phone permissions the app may ask for
The app only asks for a permission when you use the feature that needs it. You can refuse or turn any of them off in your phone’s settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
- Bluetooth and nearby devices: to find and connect to friends’ phones for Bluetooth games. Game moves travel directly between the phones in the game. They don’t pass through our servers.
- Camera: only to scan a QR code to join a friend’s game. We don’t take, keep or upload pictures.
- Motion: so you can shake your phone to roll the dice.
- Notifications: for the optional daily reminder.
Information you send us
The app has a “Talk to us” screen for suggestions, new game ideas, feedback and bug reports. When you send something, we receive:
- What you write, and the type of message you picked.
- Your email address, so we can thank you and reply. Your name too, if you add it.
- Screenshots, only if you choose to attach them.
- Basic technical details: the app version, your phone’s model and operating system version, and your app language. These help us fix problems faster.
- A device check. To make sure messages come from the real app and not from automated spam, the app proves it is a genuine copy using Google Play Integrity (Android) or Apple App Attest (iPhone). This gives us a random device identifier and a yes or no answer about whether the app is genuine. It does not tell us who you are.
We use this information only to read and act on your message, reply to you, send you one thank-you email, keep the service safe from abuse, and decide what to build next. We don’t add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails.
Who helps us run the service
We use a few trusted providers to run the website and handle your messages. They process information only on our instructions:
- Our hosting provider and database, where messages are stored.
- Amazon Web Services (S3) or a compatible storage provider, for screenshots you attach.
- Resend, to send the thank-you email and to forward messages to our team.
- Google and Apple, for the Play Integrity and App Attest checks described above.
- Clerk, which signs in the members of our team who read messages. Players never sign in.
Some of these providers are outside Nigeria. When your information is transferred abroad, we rely on providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and their screenshots for as long as they are useful to improve the app, and for no more than two years. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Device check records are kept while the app on that phone keeps using them and are deleted when they’re no longer needed.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws where you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop using it, or object to how we use it.
Email hello@mlabs.ng from the address you used and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Naija Classic Games is a family game app that people of all ages enjoy. Playing doesn’t require any personal information. The “Talk to us” screen asks for an email address, so children should ask a parent or guardian before sending us a message. If you believe a child has sent us personal information without permission, contact us and we’ll delete it.
The website
The website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and you don’t need an account to use it. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. The admin area uses cookies to keep our team signed in.
Security
Messages travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Screenshots are stored privately and are only shown to our team through links that expire. Only invited team members can read messages.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, where it makes sense, tell you in the app.
